International Centre for Birds of Prey

A Perfect Day for Flying!!

This wonderful venue chosen by the WVFDTA guaranteed a good turnout of members for this afternoon's meeting. The International Centre for Birds of Prey hosted this last meeting before what is hoped will be a busy summer season for all.

After walking by the different aviaries that house many species ranging from eagles and vultures through to the tiniest of owls we were treated to a Flying Demonstration in the picturesque setting within the grounds and the birds were introduced by extremely knowledgeable staff.

This is probably my third or fourth visit to the International Centre for Birds of Prey and still an absolute delight to see these beautiful Birds in flight. Of course - the 'show' wouldn't be complete without Jemima Parry Jones adding her wonderful quips and commentary! Even the dog joined in at showtime!!

This has to be at the top of places to visit for guests at May Hill View and certainly one I shall be recommending to all. A really enjoyable afternoon - thanks to all concerned. EF

Spring Sunshine at last!

"BLUEBELLS IN THE FOREST OF DEAN"

What a delight to see - yes, and feel! - the sunshine. It makes such a difference to us all. But it also means lots of work to do in the garden and lawns to mow !

The sun has also brought out the bluebells in the Forest of Dean and I can't wait to see the carpets of blue again - hopefully this weekend if the sun continues to shine - I want to take lots of photos! There are various guided walks arranged through the Forest - you may like to join the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley Tour Guides on one of their walks.

More later EF...
